The Government has issued a decree establishing regulations for night-time lighting of facades and interiors.
These must be turned off between 23:00 and 06:00 each night until April 30, unless businesses are open or active during these hours.
Temporary waivers may be granted at the discretion of the Minister of State.
The move is necessary to conserve energy in the context of Europe’s power shortages as a result of Russia’s attack on Ukraine and the resultant steep rise in prices.
Monaco is virtually 100-percent reliant on power supplies from France.
