The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has launched an international emergency appeal for 70 million euros to help in relief work in the wake of the earthquake disaster in Turkey and Syria in which the confirmed death toll now exceeds 7,000.

The Monaco Red Cross is appealing for public donations to support the IFRC and will supplement the appeal with its own funds.

Donations – specifying “Turkey” can be made by bank check (to the order of the Monaco Red Cross – “Turkey”) or in cash to be deposited at the headquarters of the Monaco Red Cross, 27 bd de Suisse, 98000 Monaco or via the website www.croix-rouge.mc.

Caritas Monaco has also launched an appeal for funds. Donations can be sent by cash or cheque to Caritas Monaco (Paroisse Sainte-Dévote, 1 place Sainte Dévote 98000 Monaco) or by bank transfer: “Archevêché de Monaco – Caritas Monaco” IBAN code: MC 36 1273 9000 7001 1622 7000 T85. Domiciliation: CFM ALBERT 1 ER – Swift Code: CFMOMCMXXXX. All donations through Caritas will be sent to the headquarters of the Caritas Internationalis association in the Vatican.

The Rotary Club of Monaco is also accepting donations for the affected regions and is working in coordination with the Rotary Club of Istanbul.
