A number of French prison officials visited Monaco on Tuesday, May 3, to visit the Principality’s jail and discuss professional practices, in particular in regard of solitary confinement.
The visitors were welcomed by Robert Gelli, the outgoing director of judicial services.
The French delegation consisted of Interregional Director of Prison Services of Marseille Mr Thierry Alves, accompanied by Mrs Valérie Mouseff, Director of Nice Prison, Mrs Sophie Bondil, Director of the Toulon-La Farlède Penitentiary Centre, Mrs Stéphanie Hery, head of the security and detention department, M. Chantal Fournier, head of the general affairs department and Mr Pierre Costy, head of interregional prison intelligence.
The exchange of information and expertise was described as being “extremely rich.”
