Brigitte Bardot has sent an open letter to President Macron, on Twitter, comparing him to Russia’s Putin.
“The French by voting for you for a second term are victims of the Stockholm syndrome,” she said. “Your cowardice and your indignity drive you to the sordid agreements you make with the hunters,” she said. “You are the Putin of nature and animals, a despicable and despised bloodthirsty destroyer.”
Macron has angered animal rights activists by appearing to protect the rights of recreational hunters to freely roam the French countryside, oftentimes with no apparent regard for the safety of others.
BB has so far not said who she will be voting for in the second round between Macron and Le Pen on April 24.
