HSH Prince Albert attended the memorial service for Britain’s Prince Philip at Westminster Abbey, London, on Tuesday.

Links between Monaco and the British royal family have been very close.

The service, attended by 1,800 people, was a far cry from the funeral service 11 months ago, when due to coronavirus rules the Queen sat alone and only 30 mourners could attend.

Tuesday’s service enabled many of the features that Prince Philip had wanted at his funeral, including the singing of the stirring hymn Guide Me, O Thou Great Redeemer. Clergy from Windsor, Sandringham and Balmoral took part.

In addition to Prince Albert, Denmark’s Queen Margrethe, Norway’s King Harald and Queen Sonja, and Spain’s King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, also attended.

Neither Prince Harry nor his wife, Meghan, returned from the US for the service.
