The Man I Killed – Tout L’Art du Cinema

The Audiovisual Institute of Monaco presents a screening of the 1932 American film titled ‘The Man I Killed’. The film was directed by Ernst Lubitsch and follows a Parisian man on a mission for forgiveness in 1919.

The film will be screened in black and white, in English and with French subtitles at the Théâtre des Variétés in Monaco, from 20:00 on Tuesday, November 23.

Avishai Cohen Trio – Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival

Renowned singer, composer and bass player Avishai Cohen kicks off the fifteenth annual Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival with a concert in the Salle Garnier of the Monte-Carlo Opera house.

Doors will open at 20:00, and the seated concert will begin at 20:30 on Tuesday, November 23.

English artist Jamie Cullum will take to the stage of the Salle Garnier in the second concert of this year’s Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival from 20:30 on Wednesday, November 24.

Steve Hackett Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival

Ex-lead guitarist of rock band Genesis, Steve Hackett is third on the list in this star studded program, and will revisit the best of Genesis in front of an audience in the Salle Garnier.

N’ecoutez pas mesdames

The Princess Grace Theatre returns this week with another French language play. ‘N’ecoutez pas mesdames’ was written by Sacha Guitry and is staged by Nicolas Briançon. The performance will begin at 20:30 on Thursday, November 25.

Women’s rights participative event

To mark the International Day to End Violence against Women on 25 November, the associations Fight Aids Monaco and SheCanHeCan, with the support of the Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights are organising an interactive and participative event aimed at men and boys to highlight their role in ending violence against women. 

A stand held by the associations will be installed in the Commercial Gallery of Fontvieille, from 10:00 to 18:00 on Friday, November 26 men and boys are encouraged to come to have their pictures taken along with a powerful message of support.

Represented by the ambassadors Louis Ducruet, Pierre Frolla and David Coulthard, the aim of the day is to collect over 200 portraits of men standing up against violence against women.

Baroque music concert from Poland and England

The Ristretto ensemble will perform Baroque music from Poland and England in a concert at the St Paul’s Anglican Church in Monaco from 20:00 on Friday, November 26.

Albert I commemoration – an OPMC concert

This week, the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra presents an Albert I commemoration concert, featuring renowned conductor Kazuki Yamada and Truls Mørk on the cello.

This special concert will begin at 18:00 on Sunday, November 28 at the Auditorium Rainier III.

Looking Forward

Kermesse

The annual kermesse will take place on Sunday, December 4, and St Paul’s Anglican church in Monaco will be open to receive donations from Saturday, November 27.

Messiah

The Messiah will be performed, as is traditional, on Saturday, December 11 in St Paul’s church.
