One year after the catastrophic storm that hit the Roya valley, HSH Prince Albert was once more present to provide his sympathy and support for the local community of Breil-sur-Roya.

In a moving ceremony, attended by many local dignitaries and officials, the Prince threw white roses into the lake as a tribute to the three victims of the town.

The Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes, Bernard Gonzalez, said: “There is not a week without my having exchanges with the President of the Republic to talk about reconstruction. But today was the time for remembrance and meditation.”

Prince Albert offered Monaco’s continued support: “My country has been happy to provide human and material assistance. Rest assured that the Monegasques are following your efforts with admiration, relentlessly, on these lands dear to our hearts.”
