The elected National Council issued a press statement on Thursday, August 19, following the decision by the Government to water down some provisions of the Health Pass that comes into effect on August 23.

The fact that a Health Pass will not be required for those permitted to use bars and restaurants – Monegasques, residents and employees in the Principality – provided they sit in an outdoor area recognises Monaco’s singularity, the National Council said.

This measure in particular serves as an illustration of the fact that Monaco “does not need to automatically follow measures taken by our neighbours,” the Council said.

In addition, 12-15 year-olds in Monaco will not be required to be be vaccinated, contrary to the case in France, the Council said.
