Only one patient hospitalised at Princess Grace Hospital since the start of July had been fully vaccinated, Director of CHPG Benoîte de Sevelinges said on Wednesday.

Earlier in the pandemic the average age of coronavirus patients was 74, but this has now fallen to 64, she said.

The hospital has not reopened its specialist coronavirus unit, but has been treating several patients for long Covid who still exhibit symptoms after several months.

While 93 percent of doctors at CHPG have been vaccinated, the figure for other health workers is 68 percent, with eight percent waiting for jabs after being infected by the virus.
