An 84 year-old Monaco resident has died after testing positive for coronavirus, the Monaco Government announced on the evening of Wednesday, March 3. According to the Government’s criteria, this marks the twenty-sixth coronavirus-related death in the Principality since the start of the pandemic.

This was the fourth consecutive day when the new case rate among residents in Monaco was less than 10, suggesting that the vaccination roll-out is having a positive and noticeable effect.

Eight residents tested positive for coronavirus in the latest 24-hour reporting period, with ten full recoveries.

The number of Monaco residents being treated as inpatients at the Princess Grace Hospital has fallen to 19, with four in intensive care. Twenty non-residents are also in hospital, six in intensive care.

A total of 119 residents with mild symptoms are recovering at home under the supervision of the Home Monitoring Centre.
