Four more students at the Institution François d´Assise-Nicolas Barré tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday and have been sent home. It appears likely that three of them may have picked up the virus at school, the Monaco health authorities said.
As a precaution, all the children in the class concerned were sent home until Friday, February 19, inclusive. This is the second class at the school to be sent home, following a first on Tuesday, although there is no reported connection between the two infections.
Those students sent home will be offered distance learning, while other classes at the lycée will continue to function.
In the general context of the coronavirus pandemic, children and young people are considered not to be at risk of developing serious symptoms.
