Minister of State Pierre Dartout has added details to the announcement by HSH Prince Albert on Thursday concerning the continuation of a curfew until January 15 and arrangements in place on December 24, 25 and 31.

While there will be on extension to restaurant opening times on December 24 – closing at 21:30 – the curfew will come into effect at 23:30. On December 31 restaurants will be able to stay open until 22:30, although the curfew will come into play at 20:00 as usual with exemptions for diners and those attending public events.

December 25 and January 1 will benefit from an extension of lunchtime opening hours to 16:00 instead of 15:00.

Monaco will strictly enforce checks at the borders from 19:00 on December 31, and only residents, workers and visitors with a hotel reservation will be allowed access.

Sports halls and swimming pools have been allowed to reopen with immediate effect. Coaching can resume with a limit of five people including the coach.

More details of Monaco’s vaccination plans will be made public at the start of the school year.
