Scorpio Bulkers has announced the sale of another kamsarmax bulker, the third sold by the company in the last two weeks.
The latest to be sold is the scrubber-fitted SBI Conga, built in 2015. According to Splash247, the sales price was $18.4 million, with delivery scheduled this quarter. The Hudong Zhonghua-built vessel is valued at $19.34 million by VesselsValue.
Scorpio has announced recently that it would be pursuing a new direction in offshore wind, concentrating on turbine installation vessels. The other two vessels to be sold are the SBI Rock and the SBI Sousta, each for around $18.5 million.
Following the sale of the SBI Rock, Emanuele Lauro, CEO and chairman, said: “Last month we announced a new direction for Scorpio Bulkers – offshore wind as a sustainable business opportunity. This sale represents a step, one of the many deliberate steps we must take, in our transition.”
