A Monegasque delegation participated in the first World Refugee Forum, organised jointly by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Switzerland, which took place on December 17 and 18 in Geneva.
During these two days, the debates focused on the arrangements for the sharing of burdens and responsibilities, education, employment and livelihoods, energy and infrastructure, solutions and protection.
This first Forum brought together a large number of Heads of Government and Ministers, welcomed by the Secretary-General of the United Nations and former High Commissioner for Refugees as well as by Filippo Grandi, current High Commissioner for refugees.
The Forum provided an opportunity for UN member states and other stakeholders to highlight their main achievements, share their good practices, as well as engage through pledges and concrete actions to advance the objectives of the Global Compact on Refugees.
