The Principality participated in the 40th Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) held in Montreal from September 24 to October 4, represented by Dr Diane Vachon, Consul General of Monaco in Montreal and Permanent Representative of Monaco to ICAO, and Bruno Lassagne, Director of Civil Aviation Monaco.

Monaco urged the assembly to take ambitious decisions in environmental protection, in particular to promote the use of alternative aviation fuels and to continue the CORSIA program that engages ICAO member countries to reduce and offset their aeronautical emissions of CO2. The delegation also spoke on the subject of airport security and called for the maintenance of high levels of security at international airports.

The delegation also presented the brand new Unmanned Traffic Management developed by the French start-up Air Space Drone and recently installed in the Principality. The event was organised by Monaco and Air Space Drone and took place at the Consulate General of Monaco in Montreal, in the presence of Dr. Fang Liu, Secretary General of ICAO.

Senior civil aviation authorities took note of information from Air Space Drone executives about the technologies used in Monaco and showed considerable interest in expected new developments.
