The fourth meeting of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB) responsible for drafting and negotiating for an international conference on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response, was held at the World Health Organisation (WHO), from February 27 to March 3, 2023
The Principality was represented by a delegation led by HE Mrs Carole Lanteri, Ambassador of Monaco to the United Nations Office in Geneva.
The coronavirus pandemic brought to light many gaps in health systems around the world, and the objective of this accord would be to allow countries to be better prepared and protected to prevent and respond to future pandemics hrough enhanced cooperation.
The Principality and several other countries shared their comments and questions on certain provisions contained in the draft instrument to be considered by the 77th World Health Assembly in 2024. Monaco has been a member of WHO since its creation.
