As the weather starts to warm up and the sun shines brighter,  we will see more people spending time on their water toys with the iconic Monaco flag.

The flags are available only to boats that are registered in the Principality of Monaco, which has some of the most stringent requirements for yacht ownership in the world.

Oceanpro a British-run French company in Beaulieu-sur-Mer runs Royal Yachting Association boating qualifications that the Affaires Maritime in Monaco will accept for a Monaco resident or citizen to use, or to register a Monégasque flagged boat, depending on the size of boat to be used.

The training involves some theory but is mainly practical. The courses cover the basics of berthing, turning in a small space and manoeuvres needed to handle a boat safely in port. Navigation using traditional means and electronics as well as anchoring procedures, helping to ensure the best position is selected aid recreational boaters to be able to operate and relax in confidence.

Oceanpro is well-established in the area, having been operating from the beautiful port of Beaulieu-sur-Mer, teaching residents, tourists and crew since 2001.
