Oleg Petrov has stepped down from his role of vice-president of AS Monaco, while also leaving his position as the club’s representative at the European Club Association. Petrov’s resignation was accepted by club President Dmitri Rybolovlev.
Taking on the role of Monaco’s representative to the ECA will be Juan Sartori, the co-owner of Sunderland and son-in-law of Rybolovlev. As part of a further restructuring, the club’s CEO since December 2022, Ben Lambrecht and Rybolovlev’s advisor Stéphane Morandi will join the ASM Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors met on Monday, February 27 and elected Rybolovlev’s daughter and wife of Sartori, Ekaterina Sartori Rybolovleva, as the new vice-president of the club. She has been a member of the board since 2011.
Petrov closes a chapter he started in 2019, when the Russian replaced Vadim Vasilyev as vice-president. It has now been reported that Petrov has left the club completely, and is working with the Principality’s basketball team.
