The Société des Bains de Mer will this summer add a new destination to its family of festive establishments with Maona, which will once again takes its place at the Monte-Carlo Beach.

Maona was a very popular and exclusive nightspot in the 60s, and took its name from a combination of Maria Callas and Aristotle Onassis.

SBM is adamant that the new incarnation of Maona will not be another nightclub. Open only in the evening, Maona will be “a place that hosts festive evenings with live music, a pianist, a diva, DJs”, Danièle Garcelon, general manager of the Monte-Carlo Beach, said.

The new space will have 100 covers and the emphasis will be on traditional local cuisine, SBM says. Maona will open at the end of June and will close at the end of September.
