Wannenes – Art Contact auction house is holding two important auctions next week, Jewellery on Wednesday, January 18, and Watches on the following day, Thursday, January 19, both at the Hotel de Paris, in the Hippolyte Suite on the first floor.

Teresa Scarlata, director of the Monaco office and of the Jewellery department, told NEWS.MC that last year’s July sale at the Monaco Yacht Club was particularly successful, with sales totalling 6 million euros for jewellery alone. This year is the first in which Wannenes – Art Contact will hold auctions in January.

“Interest in our auctions is steadily growing, and this month’s will be the seventh Jewellery sale we have held in Monaco,” Teresa said. There is great interest from clients based in other continents following the auction online, she added. A large proportion of sales are telephone bids.

Among many splendid pieces, Teresa points out a Kashmir Sapphire and Diamond Cross-Over Ring, signed Bvlgari, which is estimated between 220,000 and 300,000 euros.

However, not all items in the Jewellery sale are so important. There is a wide choice for all tastes and prices.

In the watch department, Wannenes – Art Contact have burst onto the luxury watch scene in the Principality, with yet another auction, the fifth, of high-end timepieces set to be held in the Hotel de Paris on Thursday, January 19.

The auction will feature a wide range of watches, some rare, all eye-catching. At the top of the list are truly desirable pieces, such as the salmon dial Jubilee Royal Oak by Audemars Piguet, which has been kept in an immaculate condition since its creation in 1993.

For the timepiece enthusiast with a more eccentric taste, Wannenes – Art Contact offers the Urwerk UR 102 ‘Night Watch Sputnik’, a standout piece thanks to the brand’s signature wandering hour time display presented in minimal fashion. This watch was produced in a very limited production run, with the example here being the 14th UR 102 ever made.
