The Southern Ocean arrives at the Oceanographic Museum
Two new exhibitions to discover from July 26 to September 26, 2022, in partnership with the French Southern and Antarctic Lands (TAAF).
The year 2022 marks the 250th anniversary of the discovery, a few weeks apart, of the Crozet and Kerguelen archipelagos by France. On this occasion, and as part of the polar program led by the Oceanographic Institute, two new temporary exhibitions will be simultaneously presented by the TAAF at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco from July 26 to September 26, 2022: Voyage en terres australes – Crozet et Kerguelen 1772 -2002 and De Dumont d’Urville at DDU: the French in Antarctica.
About forty panels, combining maps, archival documents, historical and contemporary photographs, occupy the Conference Room of the Oceanographic Museum. Visitors embark on a journey to the heart of the historical and natural heritage of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands, and their contemporary issues.
The Oceanographic Museum is open every day: In July and August: from 9.30 a.m. to 8 p.m. In September: from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Black Eyed Peas
The Californian trio: Will.i.am, Apl.de.ap, and Taboo known as Black Eyed Peas will present their latest creation for the first time at Salle des Etoiles as part of the Monte-Carlo Summer Festival.
Six-time Grammy award winning genre bending pioneers Black Eyed Peas have sold an estimated 80 million records, making them one of the best selling groups of all time.
It’s a dinner show, Jacket required. The door open at 20:00, the concert starts at 22:30.

James Blunt
The Stars Beneath My Feet (Blunt’s latest album and the tour) brings together the artist’s greatest hits. James celebrates 17 years of a stellar career that has sold over 23 million albums and won several awards.
In addition to his extensive UK tour fusing his greatest hits, James Blunt and his band is one of the highlights of this summer as their tour includes a stop at the Monte-Carlo Summer Festival.
This exceptional concert at Salle des Etoiles begins at 22:30 on Thursday July 28. Jacket required.

An Evening with Christina Aguilera
She was only 12 when she first launched her career, on The Mickey Mouse Club, alongside Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears. Six years later, her first album, Christina Aguilera, was released and sold over 16 million copies, taking her straight to the top of the US charts.
Over 43 million records have been sold worldwide during her career, earning her numerous awards: six Grammy Awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and Rolling Stone magazine’s prestigious spot as one of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time under the age of 30. In 2013, TIME magazine ranked her as one of the most influential people in the world.
For the first time, she will honor the Monte-Carlo Summer Festival with her presence on July 29 at the Salle des Etoiles. Doors open at 20:00, concert beginns at 22:30. Jacket required.

A French theatre show about the work – life balance featuring Geoffrey Rouge-Carrassat and his “work addiction”.
At the Fort Antoine Theatre on Friday, July 29 at 21:30. “Balance Sheet” of the Compagnie la Gueule Ouverte is organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs. Free entry for 12+ with tickets from the Princess Grace Theatre.

Concert au Palais Princier
An outdoor performance of music by Elgar and Richard Strauss, by the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra in the Palace’s Cour d’Honneur, conducted by Juraj Valčuha, with Vilde Frang on violin at 21:30, Jacket and tie required.
Juraj Valčuha (born 1976, Bratislava) is a Slovak conductor who has worked mainly in Italy and France. He is the designated conductor of the Houston Symphony Orchestra from the 2022/23 season.
Vilde Frang Bjærke (born 1986) is a Norweigan classical violinist.

Monte-Carlo Summer Festival
Rita Ora
Both singer and actress, Rita Ora made her name through Jay-Z’s label in the early 2010s. She also is one of the main character in the Fifty Shades film trilogy.
While performing in London bars, she was spotted by a talent scout who invited her to a meeting with the rapper Jay-Z. He fell under her charm and signed her to his label as she was only 18.
After a diversion to France via the famous Lollapalooza festival, the singer will be in Monaco on July 31th at the Salle des Etoiles, concert starts at 22.30, proper attire required.

CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN – L’EXHIBITION[NISTE] – CHAPTER II
A major summer event from the Grimaldi Forum Monaco is dedicated to the work and imagination of Christian Louboutin, a footwear designer and key figure in the fashion industry who has drawn much of his inspiration from the Principality.
The set design encompasses 2,000 m² and unveils previously unseen works tied to the designer’s Monegasque inspirations as well as new collaborations, including a unique project being developed with British artist Allen Jones.
Far from a classic retrospective, the exhibition path was designed as a joyful odyssey through three decades of abundant creativity infused with curiosity for all cultures and arts.
While the shoes will take pride of place, with a selection of unique pieces, the designer especially wanted to pay tribute to those who inspire him and make him dream.
The exhibition will close in August 28, 2022.

Newton, Riviera
The title of the exhibition clearly circumscribes a geography, that of the Côte-d’Azur to Bordighera, in Italy, which Helmut Newton photographed from the 1960s until his death in the early 2000s. “A Riviera” is thus a pretext to explore the work of a major photographer of the 20th century in a different way, through now famous images, like others rarely presented to the public.
