Aurelién Tchouaméni, AS Monaco’s defensive midfielder, is heading for Real Madrid for a fee totalling more than 100 million euros.

Both Liverpool and PSG had been vying for the 22 year-old French international, with some reports saying that both clubs had offered to pay more.

Tchouaméni was signed from Bordeaux in January 2020 for about 20 million euros.

AS Monaco has been heavily criticised over recent years by its own fans for selling talent. Kylian Mbappé was sold four years ago to PSG for 189 million euros, since when a slew of other good players have been sold for high sums, including Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy.
