Monaco recorded three new coronavirus cases among residents on Sunday, together with six recoveries.

The three-day weekend total has fallen to 24 new cases, following 35 last weekend.

Twenty-eight residents are currently receiving treatment at the Princess Grace Hospital, including five in intensive care.

A total of 136 residents with mild symptoms are recovering at home under the care of the Home Monitoring Centre.

The falling infection rate is most likely linked to the Principality’s successful inoculation of more than 20 percent of residents, mainly the elderly.

Meanwhile, the UK reported 6,035 new cases and 144 new deaths in the 24-hour reporting period to Sunday evening. The UK has the highest vaccination rate in Europe, with more than 20 million people inoculated, accounting for approximately 30 percent of the total population, including children.
