Because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the annual charity event No Finish Line will take place virtually this year.
At one point the organisers had thought they would continue with a real-life circuit for walkers and a virtual model for runners, but as the health situation has not improved the whole event will now be virtual.
A running app will keep track of each walker’s or runner’s progress.
Last year’s edition was abandoned after a participant was swept from the Fontvieille breakwater and injured.
The event will start on Saturday, November 14, at 15:00 and finish at 15:00 on November 22.
The organisers, Children & Future, are hoping to not only raise money for children’s charities but also to rebuild a building destroyed in the recent floods in the Roya or Vésubie valleys.
Over 20 years No Finish Line has raised more than four million euros for disadvantaged children. This year’s target is to raise 400,000 euros with one euro for each kilometre completed.
