Monaco’s pavilion at the Expo 2020 in Dubai is already attracting attention as its outline takes shape ahead of the event that will now open in October 2021.

Large solar panels are currently being fixed to the exterior of the pavilion to power it throughout the six-month fair. The building itself represents Monaco’s emblematic Rock, while the solar panels also reflect the Principality’s commitment to sustainable energy.

Once the major structural work is finished in a few weeks, the pavilion will be closed until May next year when interior work starts.

The man in charge of Monaco’s contribution to the Expo, Albert Croesi, said: It’s an incredible opportunity for a country like the Principality of Monaco to be able to share with the public its historical patrimony, its cultural and even culinary heritage. It’s also a place to share great environmental actions and sustainable innovations that lead the path towards a better future. We believe that an event such as Expo 2020 Dubai is the perfect place to raise awareness, meet counterparts and share environmental concerns.”
