Having previously been postponed from September to November, Luxe Pack Monaco will now not go ahead in 2020, announced organiser IDICE on October 1. Instead, the luxury packaging trade show will take a temporarily virtual form in November.

The decision to cancel the event follows recently implemented government measures in light of the current pandemic, which limit the number of people allowed to gather in one place. Further contributing factors also include the broader travel restrictions imposed in Europe and beyond. In 2019, the Monaco show registered 9,240 attendees from 99 countries, 52 percent of whom travelled from outside of France.

“As international health measures are being reinforced day by day, it is now impossible for us to guarantee a show that meets the exacting demands offered by Luxe Pack Monaco for 34 years,” said the managing director of IDICE, Nathalie Curvat.

All is not lost though, as the popular luxury packaging show will return to the Grimaldi Forum in 2021. The official dates of the physical show are now September 27 to 29.

In the meantime, IDICE is gearing up for the launch of its first ever digital platform, My Luxe Pack. The platform will be open to the public and is set to showcase the latest in luxury packaging, while highlighting the expertise and innovations of suppliers from around the globe in a socially-distanced digital setting.
