For the first time since the dreaded coronavirus pandemic decimated the sporting calendar, a post-lockdown international track and field event is imminently looming – here in Monaco. The Herculis EBS athletics Diamond League event will take place on the freshly restored track of the Stade Louis II on Friday, August 14.
Yes, for the first time since the coronavirus infected our lives, a spectator attended athletics event will take place with a worldwide audience.
Among the globally-recognised athletes competing are Kenyan world champion 1500 metre runner Timothy Cheruiyot and 10,000 metre Ethiopian runner Yomif Kejelcha. Stade Louis II is sure to be packed full of champions from around the world all competing at the very edge of human performance. The Herculis EBS event is organised in collaboration with Monaco’s public authorities, the Wanda Diamond League and World Athletics. Initially scheduled for July 10, the event was postponed to August 14 based as a result of the development of the coronavirus situation. Tickets are available on the event’s official website here.
