The Irish government has removed five destinations from its travel green list, including Monaco. This means that travellers returning from Monaco, plus Malta, Cyprus, Gibraltar, and San Marino will have to restrict their movements for a 14-day period.
The decision to remove Monaco was taken because France is not on the green list, and the Irish government became aware that most air travellers from Monaco travel through Nice.
Finland, Norway, Italy, Hungary, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Greece and Greenland remain on the list.
Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly said this week that 14 of the 15 countries on the green list have seen significant increases in the virus in the last two weeks since the list was created, and the Irish government continues to advise against all non-essential foreign travel.
