Former AS Monaco captain Wissam Ben Yedder is set to appear before the Nice criminal court on Tuesday, October 15. He faces charges of sexual assault, refusal to comply, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
The incident reportedly took place in the Alpes-Maritimes region during the night from Friday to Saturday. A 23-year-old woman has accused Ben Yedder of assaulting her in his car. According to L’Équipe, this was confirmed by Nice’s public prosecutor, Damien Martinelli, who stated that the footballer was arrested while driving under the influence by police in Cap-d’Ail.
Following his arrest, Ben Yedder, the former French international, appeared in court on Sunday and was charged with “sexual assault while clearly intoxicated, refusal to comply, and driving under the influence of alcohol.”
Neither Wissam Ben Yedder nor his lawyer, Me Hasna Louzé, has responded to requests for comment on the new case.
