AS Monaco has announced the signing of 18-year-old German striker Paris Brunner from Borussia Dortmund on a four-year contract, extending until June 2028. Brunner will spend the upcoming 2024-2025 season on loan at Cercle Bruges, where he will gain experience in the Jupiler League and European competitions.
Born on February 15, 2006, in Germany, Brunner developed his skills at the academies of Rot-Weiss Essen and VfL Bochum before completing his training at Borussia Dortmund. The young forward quickly made a name for himself in the U17 Bundesliga, netting 16 goals in just five league appearances. At 16, he was promoted to Dortmund’s U19 team, where he continued to impress, scoring 21 goals and providing 8 assists in 25 games last season.
On the international stage, Brunner has represented Germany with distinction, excelling in the U17 category. He concluded 2023 as both a European and World Champion, earning accolades as the co-top scorer and best player in the tournaments, respectively. His performances were instrumental in Germany’s victories, particularly in the finals against France.
This season, Brunner will don the green and black jersey of Cercle Bruges, where he will continue his development in one of Europe’s competitive leagues.
