Société des Bains de Mer and its subsidiaries achieved a turnover of 667 million euros for the whole of the 2022/2023 financial year compared to 530.5 million euros in 2021/2022, an improvement of 26 percent over the year as a whole.

The profit for the last full year was 72.2 million euros. Each salaried SBM employee will receive a bonus of 2,000 euros, SBM’s CEO Stéphane Valéri said on Thursday.

The €136.5 million increase in revenue is the result of improved revenues across all business lines, he said.

However, the 2021/2022 figure was recorded while travel restrictions and health rules were in force for part of that period, impacting certain events – Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters behind closed doors, Formula 1 with crowd limits – as well as a curfew until June 25, 2021.

The 2021 summer season – from July to September – then recorded a recovery in activity. The first signs of an improvement were fully confirmed for the 2022/2023 financial year with the total lifting of health restrictions and operation under normal conditions of all Group facilities at SBM.

The games sector reported a turnover of 215.4 million euros against 200.8 million euros in 2021/2022, a seven percent increase compared to the previous year mainly due to the increase in revenue from the table games business at the Casino de Monte-Carlo by +€8 million compared to 2021/2022.

Turnover of SBM over the first two months of the new 2023/2024 financial year is in line with that observed in the 2022/2023 financial year, SBM said.
