The driver of an Aston Martin DB11 was one of several dozen drivers caught by French police breaking the 110 kph speed limit on the A8 autoroute on the night before the Monaco Grand Prix.

Twenty-one of the speedsters were travelling at more than 50 kph over the limit in the Roquebrune-Cap-Martin section and had their cars seized.

But the undisputed leader was caught doing 223 kph in his $230,000 Aston Martin through the Coupière tunnel. To make matters worse, he had consumed alcohol and was well over the limit with 1.2g/l in his blood. He will appear in court in Nice during this week.
