The Financial Times Business of Luxury Summit is back in Monaco for the third time. The world’s leading financial daily has held a total of 19 such events and the Principality is the perfect fit, said John Ridding, the FT’s CEO, welcoming attendees to the opening cocktail at the Monaco Yacht Club on Sunday evening.

When the series started, artificial intelligence was the stuff of science fiction, and Covid was not yet on the agenda. Financial crises have come and gone.

But the luxury sector has survived thanks to three constants: dynamism, resilience and innovation.

LVMH is now the biggest luxury company in Europe, he said.

Will the extraordinariness ever stop?

The agenda of the summit, which continues through Tuesday morning, will focus on trends the industry faces, the global economic outlook, and success stories.

Later in the evening HSH Prince Albert attended the dinner for the Summit’s speakers.
