The Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF), an international body that aims to design and promote strategies to fight money-laundering and the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, held a training course for the Monegasque authorities on May 4 and May 5.

Jean Castellini, Minister of Finance and Economy, attended these training courses as well as other officials.

In his capacity as Chairman of the National Strategy Coordination and Monitoring Committee, the Minister of State received Mr Kevin Vandergrift and Mr Florent-Babacar Dieng, respectively Director of the Training Department and FATF Policy Analyst.

This high-level meeting provided an opportunity to discuss with FATF representatives the issues relating to the ICRG (International Cooperation Review Group) process.

The Principality is fully motivated and prepared and reaffirms its commitment to comply to the best international standards in the fight against money-laundering, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and corruption.
