HSH Prince Albert pleasantly surprised guests at a Red Cross event in the Principality with extraordinary news. While standing on the stage of the Auditorium Rainier III on the evening of Tuesday, April 4, the sovereign announced “My nephew Louis Ducruet and his wife Marie have the joy of being parents of a little girl.”

Ducruet’s half sister Camille Gottlieb was standing alongside the Prince, smiling, as he shared the welcome news with the audience and the world. The baby girl was born on Tuesday, April 4, but her name has not yet been revealed.

The new addition to the Monegasque royal family is Louis and Marie’s first child, while also being the first grandchild of Princess Stéphanie of Monaco, Prince Albert’s sister. This means the baby girl is 16th in-line to the Principality’s throne.
