Swimming will not be possible at Larvotto Beach from April 11 until April 28 for ‘re-profiling.’

Winter storms and wave action have produced a virtual cliff that impedes access to the sea, and the reprofiling will reduce the slope, the Government said on Thursday.

The operation will stir up sediment and special nets will be installed to protect marine life in neighbouring coves.

Sections of the beach will be reopened as work progresses and the cafes and other businesses will remain open during the work.
