As the death count continues to tragically rise since the 7.7 magnitude Kahramanmaras earthquake gripped Turkey and Syria on February 6, the Monegasque Red Cross has stepped up its efforts to help.

With at least 35,000 dead in the deadliest earthquake in the two countries for a century, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies has launched two emergency appeals with a combined value of 200 million Swiss francs. Following the appeal, the Monegasque Red Cross immediately donated 100,000 euros of its own funds to the IFRC, who are currently in the field.

The two appeals totalling 200 million CHF will be spent on supporting 300,000 affected people in Turkey and a further 300,000 people in Syria. With this in mind, the Monegasque Red Cross has made an appeal of its own for public donations to support the IRFC in their short and long-term response to the earthquake.

It is possible to make cash donations in person at the headquarters of the Monegasque Red Cross at 27 boulevard de Suisse, or online, on the croix-rouge.mc website.
