The Roca Team made head coach Saša Obradovic proud with a dominant display in a Euroleague game away, against Alba Berlin at the Mercedes-Benz Arena on the evening of Wednesday, February 1.

To the delight of Berlin supporters, the hosts managed to maintain an edge over their visitors at the beginning of the game. Berlin just about won the tip-off and ended the first quarter ahead by 24-22.

However, the Roca Team came back out on to the court all guns blazing from the start of the second quarter. A slam dunk brought Monaco level with Berlin, before a quick steal shortly thereafter lead to another dunk to start building the newfound Roca Team lead over the hosts. With a scoreline of 36-51 at the end of the second quarter, the game was now very much the visitors’ to lose.

Berlin’s nightmare continued into the third quarter as Monaco opened the scoring with a completely unguarded three-pointer from the edge of the court. While the dunks and shots from deep were certainly getting the Roca Team ahead, their impressive defence held Berlin back, and constant rebounds kept the game in Obradovic’s favour.

Despite the best efforts of Berlin, and a much stronger fourth quarter, the Roca Team held on for a considerably huge win on the road. At the end of a tough game for the home fans to watch, Monaco win by 84-102.

With this win Obradovic and co’ continue to occupy fourth place in the Euroleague table, and they won’t have long to rest before facing second place Real Madrid on Friday, February 3, in Monaco at the Salle Gaston Medecin.
