Faust – Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo
The concept of the “trinity” has always been important in the ballets of Jean-Christophe Maillot, an association of three characters that experiments with the most universal emotions and the most intense passions. In Faust, this trinity achieves its pinnacle through the sacred yet cursed bond between Faust, Marguerite and Mephistopheles. Faust (unsatisfied and ageing), Marguerite (the feminine ideal) and Mephisto (pure evil) swim through the meanders of human comedy, whilst the tall and sensual silhouette of Death watches with great eyes filled with certainty.

Les Vilaines – Theatre
This musical evokes the era of the grand Parisian revues and their backstage goings-on. Three showgirls from this unique world sing, dance, and act out brand new scripts and songs by Guy Bontempelli, lyricist for Juliette Gréco, Dalida, Françoise Hardy, Nicoletta, and Brigitte Bardot. With strong characters, magnificent bodies, and eloquence, the three protagonists perform a series of numbers. Each in her own way invites the audience to share her secrets and the ups and downs of her romantic life.
Thursday 29 and Friday 30 at 20:30 and Saturday December 31 at 20:00 and 22:15, at Théâtre des Muses.
At midnight, after having started the countdown all together and before being able to dance on the stage of the theatre, a glass of champagne will be offered to you. Exhibition of Pastels by Jean Malaurie
On the occasion of Jean Malaurie’s aniversary – he turned 100 in December 22 – the Oceanographic Museum exhibits a selection of his pastels inspired by his multiple missions in the Arctic.
At the end of 2021, Jean Malaurie made a donation to the Oceanographic Institute of his collection of Inuit objects, from his archives and personal effects from his 31 polar expeditions. Visitors can experience some of this collection presented as part of the “Mission Polaire” exhibition. Until January 24, 2023 at the Oceanographic Museum.

Mission Polaire – Polar Mission – an interactive entertainment for the entire family
Christmas Holiday Entertainment at the Oceanographic Museum offers five new thematic areas: from the discovery of the Poles to the wildlife they shelter in passing trough the humans that populate them and explore them. The iconic IMMERSION room takes you to the Poles by offering you the experience of life and interaction with bears, belugas and even penguins in six different scenarios. You will be up most close to the animals and propelled to the heart of the Poles! The programme continues until January 2023.

Les Carabiniers du Prince – exhibition
Twelve photographs dating from 1890 to 2022 are presented, in chronological order to portray the history of the Carabinieri du Prince, closely linked to that of Monaco and the Prince’s family. This prestigious military unit, with 124 Carabinieri, provides daily security at the Prince’s Palace, the security of the Sovereign Family, of its property and dependencies with Its motto, “Honour, Loyalty and Dedication.” Free exhibition at the Gare de Monte Carlo until February 16, 2023.
Monaco on Stage – 100 ans de concerts à Monaco
The immersive exhibition includes corridors marked with autographs, reconstructions of dressing rooms, and some exclusive, never-before-seen content on stars who have performed in Monaco. It is also an opportunity to discover music from the ‘inside’.
Visitors will be able to listen to guitars vibrating to the sound of iconic riffs, enjoy an astounding and unique version of the famous song ‘My Way’, experience the feelings of being onstage as well as learn the ties that bind Ella Fitzgerald and Alicia Keys, or what Céline Dion, Mariah Carey and Josephine Baker have in common. Monaco Onstage – 100 ans de concerts à Monaco – promises a musical and visual experience like no other. Until Saturday December 31, from 13:00 to 19:00 at Salle d’Exposition du Quai Antoine Ier. Free admission, tours with commentary (information available on site).
A Walk in the South Tyrol – exhibition
Photographs by Jean-Pierre Debernardi exhibited with the support of the Department of the Environment and the association Artphoto Monaco. This exhibition is a true ode to the mountains. Until Monday, January 2, 2023 at Galerie des Pêcheurs.
Cinémato ! – exhibition
Sovereign, scholar and humanist, Prince Albert I (1848-1922) was interested, beyond passion for science, in all the innovative techniques of his time. Thanks to loans from the Archives of the Palace of Monaco and the Oceanographic Institute, the collections of the Audiovisual Institute and the know-how of its teams, this cabinet of curiosities recalls how much Prince Albert I was able to link the experience of photography and sound recording.
