The new robotic magnetic navigation room for the treatment of arrhythmias has been inaugurated in the Cardiology Department of the Princess Grace Hospital Centre.

The treatment consists of two magnets located on each side of the operating table, driven from a computer which allows the cardiologist to perform minimally invasive procedures, using a catheter whose tip is guided by the magnetic field to the heart via the vessels.

The catheter delivers energy to specific areas of the heart muscle, restoring the normal rhythm of the heart.

The Cardiology department was awarded the accolade of “European Centre of Excellence in Arterial Hypertension” in 2021 under the leadership of Pr Atul Pathak, Head of the Cardiology Department.

This is a significant advance in the management of patients with this disease and a major asset for CHPG patients, as no other centre of excellence exists between Milan and Marseilles.
