The Government has called for “renewed vigilance” in the face of an increase in the rate of coronavirus infections in the Principality.

The benchmark incidence rate rose to 748 on July 3, up from 501 one week earlier and 148 one month earlier. This is still lower than in the neighbouring Alpes-Maritimes, where the rate is now 1,317. The rate in France as a whole stood at 1,099 on July 1.

Monaco’s rate was based on 2,612 PCR and antigen tests and the positivity rate was 26 percent.

On Monday the Monaco Government said it “strongly encourages people over 60 and people presenting a high risk of developing a serious form, to carry out a second vaccination booster (4th dose).

“Vaccination is done on a voluntary basis and is totally free. Simply make an appointment with the National Vaccination Center on 92 05 55 00.”

It is also strongly recommended, especially for fragile people, to wear a mask in crowded places and on public transport, the Government said.
