HSH Prince Albert has decided to extend the current health restrictions until March 19 inclusive, following consultations between His Government and the National Council as a Joint Monitoring Committee.
The curfew between 19:00 and 06:00 will remain applicable for four additional weeks, as will the rules relating to consumption in catering establishments at noon: access is reserved for residents, employees and students of the Principality, reservation is required, the number of guests is limited to six per table, service can only take place between 11:00 and 15:00.
The compulsory use of teleworking in the private and public sectors remains in force. The objective is to reduce the influx of people from outside the Principality while maintaining economic life.
With a massive screening of more than 5,000 tests per week taking place, the figures show that the virus is still active in the Principality.
“Admittedly, the incidence rate is tending to fall, but it remains high, placing the Principality at the level recorded at the end of December 2020. Last week, 276 positive cases were posted per 100,000 inhabitants over a period of seven days,” the Government said.
The number of patients treated at CHPG remains high: this Tuesday, February 16, there were 54 patients.
“The health situation therefore requires (us) not to lower our guard. Once again, the health authorities insist on maintaining vigilance in the private sphere, where more than half of the contaminations occur during social meetings. We must exercise the greatest caution and limit these gatherings as much as possible. It is absolutely necessary to respect barrier gestures during moments of conviviality in the family setting: reinforce hand hygiene, ventilate the occupied room, and make sure not to share cutlery or glasses.
“It is essential that everyone take precautions to protect themselves and to protect others. The Prince’s Government reserves the right to adapt these measures according to the evolution of the health situation, in consultation with the National Council.”
