October 7 was a big night for AS Monaco basketball as the Roca Team welcomed EuroCup group rivals Lietkabelis Panevezys to their home court of the Salle Gaston Médecin. The red and whites’ supporters were treated to a blow-out victory as the Principality side came together to form an impossible opponent for the visiting Lithuanian team.

Right from tip-off, the game was very much one-sided as the scoreline stood at 5-0 after just minutes of play. However, the visitors managed to catch up to their hosts and then some over the course of the second quarter. At the beginning of the third quarter, Monaco managed to regain control with a 35-34 scoreline and from there on out the red and whites blew Lietkabelis out with a colossal performance, particularly that of team captain Dee Bost.

Bost was instrumental in his side’s victory as he accumulated 25 points before the final buzzer, breaking his previous career-best of 21 points in the process. By the time the third quarter was out, the game was already looking over as the hosts led with 70-42 points. The fourth quarter only saw Monaco maintain their lead with a final score of 82-57 points. Watch the game highlights below:

Speaking to the press after the game, Bost said that “We got aggressive in the third quarter and everything went well. We are ambitious in this EuroCup. But we can still play better”. An unwarranted bout of modesty from the team captain as Monaco walk away with their second consecutive victory in the 7DAYS EuroCup.

The next European challenger arrives in the form of Telenet Giants Antwerp at home on October 14. The Monegasques will surely be seeking their third consecutive European win but first they must face off against Pau-Lacq-Orthez for a regular season fixture, away, on October 12.
