American actress Hayden Panettiere, best known for her roles in the television series Heroes and Nashville, died on Monday, August 17 at the age of 36, with reports indicating an investigation has since been opened into her death.

Monaco has long served as a magnet for international stars, a fact borne out across decades of Principality soirées, and Panettiere’s own connection to Monaco fits squarely within that tradition. Having risen to international fame through the fantasy series Heroes, which launched in 2006, Panettiere made a memorable appearance in Monaco in 2010, at the height of the show’s success, when she took to the red carpet at the World Music Awards.

That evening, held at the Monte-Carlo Sporting Club on May 18, 2010, brought together the artists who had sold the most records worldwide that year, alongside a wide array of celebrity guests. For the ceremony’s 21st edition, organisers entrusted hosting duties to two actresses: Michelle Rodriguez and Hayden Panettiere.

Beyond Heroes and Nashville, Panettiere was also known for film roles including Princess on Ice and Scream 4, building a career that spanned television, film and voice work over more than two decades in the industry.
