The investigation into the targeted attack on June 29 is expected to reach another key milestone today as two men accused of murdering prime suspect Anastasiia Berezovska are due to appear before a Ukrainian court…

Fresh information has revealed new links between the suspects and Ukraine’s security services. As reported by Monaco Matin, according to Ukrainian outlet Radio Liberty, the man previously identified as a military intelligence officer has now been named as 33-year-old Vladyslav Reut, correcting earlier reports that mistakenly identified his older brother. The publication also reports that Reut, like Berezovska, originated from the city of Zhytomyr, around 150 kilometres west of Kyiv.

Ukrainian prosecutors allege Berezovska was shot several times in the head after returning to Ukraine shortly after the June 29 bombing in Monaco. One of the two suspects has reportedly confessed to the killing, leading investigators to the location where her body was discovered.

Radio Liberty further reports that the second suspect, initially described as a former law enforcement officer, may in fact have joined Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) in 2020, citing its own analysis of telephone records. The SBU is also the agency leading Ukraine’s investigation into the Monaco bombing.

Monegasque judicial authorities continue to treat information emerging from Ukraine with caution, emphasising that international cooperation remains ongoing as investigators work to establish who planned and ordered the attack targeting Vadim Ermolaev and his family.
