On Friday, January 23, 2026, His Excellency the Minister of State, Christophe Mirmand, chaired the fourth meeting of the Steering Committee responsible for Monaco’s global anti-corruption strategy, as part of the fifth evaluation cycle of the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO)…
The meeting provided an opportunity to review progress on the actions being implemented in response to the recommendations issued in GRECO’s evaluation report on Monaco, published on June 21, 2024. Following preparatory work and arbitration carried out during the Committee’s first three meetings, members now share a common and coherent understanding of the challenges linked to senior executive functions within the Principality.
These efforts have helped lay the foundations for a realistic strategic framework, tailored to Monaco’s institutional specificities and designed to be implemented in a practical and operational manner. According to the Minister of State, the Committee’s work reflects a demanding yet constructive dynamic, demonstrating a clear determination to strengthen, in a progressive and pragmatic way, national mechanisms for the prevention of and fight against corruption. He also underlined that the orientations adopted are the result of the involvement of all relevant entities and illustrate the high-level attention given to these sensitive issues, in line with the wishes of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II.
The Steering Committee will continue its work in the coming weeks in order to finalise the global anti-corruption strategy applicable to senior executive functions, together with its accompanying operational action plan. Once completed, the strategy and action plan are expected to be made public by the Princely Government, marking a significant step forward in reinforcing Monaco’s national anti-corruption framework.
