In the wake of the New Year’s Day fire at the Swiss resort of Crans-Montana, the Minister of State has moved to further strengthen preventive measures in the Principality. The Technical Commission for Hygiene, Safety and Environmental Protection has been instructed to carry out additional inspections of relevant venues, while operators are being reminded of the importance of strict compliance with fire safety rules and evacuation procedures.
Alongside these measures, the government has asked for the rapid preparation of a regulatory amendment that would formally ban the use of all types of pyrotechnic devices indoors, including flares. The objective is to remove any residual risk associated with the use of such equipment in confined spaces where smoke, heat and crowd density can quickly create dangerous conditions.
