On 21 November 2025, Monaco once again demonstrated its commitment to global health by taking part in the 8th replenishment conference of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria…
Isabelle Berro-Amadéi, Government Counsellor–Minister of External Relations and Cooperation, participated virtually in the high-level event, which was co-chaired by South Africa and the United Kingdom.
The conference brought together political leaders, civil society organisations, multilateral partners and the private sector at a time when the international health system is under acute strain. Successive global crises have threatened progress made over the past two decades in reducing the spread and impact of these three major infectious diseases.
In this context, the Principality chose not only to reaffirm its commitment but to increase its financial contribution to the Global Fund. Mme Berro-Amadéi emphasised that solidarity must remain the cornerstone of global health, recalling that the health security of any one country is inseparable from that of its neighbours, and that the vulnerability of one population can undermine the stability of all.
Created in 2002, the Global Fund is an international partnership dedicated to eliminating AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, while strengthening health and community systems in some of the world’s most affected regions. Each year, it mobilises and invests up to 5 billion USD across more than 100 countries, supporting prevention, treatment, equality and resilience.
Monaco’s renewed engagement underscores its long-standing position: that collective action and shared responsibility are essential to building a healthier, safer and more equitable world.
