A day after the official presentation of the Monaco stages of La Vuelta 2026, the Principality hosted an early morning reconnaissance of the race’s individual time trial course on Sunday, October 26.

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II took part in the event alongside Javier Guillén, General Director of La Vuelta, Sir Gary Verity, and race ambassador Nicolas Roche, joined by professional riders Hugo Houle, Matteo Trentin, Steven Kruijswijk, and Alexander Vinokourov.

The group covered the full 9.6-kilometre route, which runs entirely through Monaco’s city streets — starting from Place du Casino and following a scenic circuit that includes the Moulins district, the iconic Fairmont Hairpin, Larvotto, Port Hercule, Fontvieille Harbour, the Chapiteau de Fontvieille, and finishing at the legendary Formula 1 start/finish line.

The test ride offered participants a firsthand look at the technically demanding course, which will feature prominently when Monaco hosts the La Vuelta 2026 time trial — marking a new chapter in the Principality’s long-standing association with world-class sporting events.
