Monaco is celebrating the arrival of its newest royal, as Pierre Casiraghi and Beatrice Borromeo have welcomed their third child — and first daughter — into the world. The couple’s baby girl, born on Saturday, October 4, has been named Bianca Caroline Marta, a name rich in family meaning and cultural heritage.

The news was confirmed by the Princely Family’s official channels on Tuesday, October 14, delighting royal watchers and well-wishers across Europe. Bianca joins her two older brothers, Stefano, 8, and Francesco, 7, completing the family of five.

The baby’s name carries deep personal significance: Caroline pays tribute to Pierre’s mother, Princess Caroline of Hanover, while Marta honours Beatrice’s late grandmother, Marta Marzotto — the renowned Italian fashion designer and socialite. Bianca, meaning “white” or “pure” in Italian, is a nod to Beatrice’s own Italian roots.

Pierre, 38, the grandson of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III, has built a life that blends business, sport, and humanitarian work, continuing the family’s legacy with quiet dignity. His wife, Beatrice, 40, is a respected journalist and filmmaker, admired for her intellect and understated elegance.

The pair married in 2015 in a two-part ceremony that captured global attention — first a civil wedding at the Prince’s Palace of Monaco, followed by a lavish celebration on Beatrice’s ancestral Borromean Islands in Italy. They marked their tenth anniversary this summer.

Bianca Caroline Marta’s arrival makes Princess Caroline a grandmother once again and places the new baby eleventh in line to the Monegasque throne.
